@webbgarner1

Here's a recipe for the Orange Slice Cake.  Now I have a real yen to make one; I'll use a sharp knife dipped in hot water to cut up the orange slices.  It surely was good.

Re: Confess to liking fruitcake - has anyone baked one?

 Kachina oh thanks so much for sharing. Enjoy that ymmy deliousness ! I had some old recipe books that belonged to my mother and some recipes she had written down in  them on blank pages and loose papers.  My husband tends to be a pack rat, and he got the urge to do some cleaning up one day while i was at work and he trew out her cookbooks. They were more or less sentimntal, I do not do a lot of baking.

I know you can find recipes easily but a lot of it was the memory of her in the kitchen during holidays, the smells of her cooking, and her handwriting.

You sound like a neat lady, most people do not know what i am talking about when i say orange slice cake.

You have yourself a wonderful holiday and share  that cake with loved ones.They will think of you long after that cake is gone.
