I am drinking coconut water since I was a child... Very few

of the bottled/packaged waters taste like true coconut water.

My children disliked the coconut water I would buy until we

visited Aruba and the Manager of the Hotel asked an employee

to climb a tree to get some ""Real"" coconuts for my children...

They loved those and always look forward to places where coconuts

are grown..

We have a raw food restaurant nearby and they serve coconut water from fresh coconuts. Omg so good and refreshing!

Glad I posted this topic. I am learning some things about nutrition. Hope to pick up some ideas from the Ninja show and ITKWD when Bob sells the TSV.

Costco has been recommended and I agree, their prices are among the best.

I also think that coconut water is awful! Talk about wrecking a smoothie. Tried all of them and do not like one of them. I don't like fresh coconut milk from a coconut either. I use Silk Almond Coconut milk as a basis for all my smoothies.

I can handle 2-3 sips of it, but after that, it gets gross tasting to me. It's awfully sweet for me too.

My favorite coconut water brand is "Amy & Brian", and I buy the "with lime" version from Amazon. It's refreshing, hydrating and delicious! Granted, there are some pretty bad brands of it out there. But certainly not all...

To the OP, coconut water is sold in the juice aisle or the energy water aisle in my grocery stores. We do not like the taste out of the box but we do use it as the liquid base in our smoothies. It is different than coconut milk.

I agree about it being good for a base. The extract is not very good at all. I bought some for my soda stream and wasn't impressed.
