Many people have asked about how to clean the Solofill if you have a septic system and I have found that the best I can do is to follow this procedure:

After you take it out of the C/K machine and it is cool enough to handle, simple smack the FLAT end of the intact container a time or two against a flat surface (counter top, cutting board, etc.,) and then open it over a bucket/container and hit it against the side of the bucket and the grinds should come out including those in the depression at the bottom.

Now simple swish the almost empty Solofill vigorously in another container that is filled with water and you should be ready to refill and go. If you have a few Solofills you can make a few cups before having to clean and fill (duh)...

All in all, I am cancelling most all of my A K cup orders and using my excellent SamsClub Cuisinart burr grinder at level 2.5 to get fresh coffee grinds to use.
