I'm 57 years young, love to cook, but have never cooked on cast iron. My mother occasionally did when I was young, but I was too little to be able to see the stove.
I am now having difficulties keeping my iron count up, plus with summer quickly leaving us, I'd love to be able to cook a good steak without needing to fire up the grill. I've heard the best way to cook a steak is on cast-iron, so this is definitely my next addition to my kitchen. The whole "two birds" thing, you know?
I also hate to admit it, but I have never made good ol' fried chicken. I can dress it up in every fancy way imaginable, but just a great fried chicken? I'm clueless. Therefore, I'm looking for a cast iron frying pan and/or skillet that will be deep and large enough to fry chicken, good for frying steaks, but that will still impart that necessary iron that my body needs. My kitchen storage space is nearly non-existent, so nothing the size of a small pony, okay?
Now...experts that you obviously all are (since you shop QVC), please give me your advice. I work far too many hours to drive around aimlessly comparing features and prices, so would be happiest to shop my usual way...here on QVC.
Thanks huge kaboodles for your time and input. And please....SOMEBODY ANSWER ME! ![]()
