@BeccaLou: I think it means The Powers That Be. I do wish people would spell things out. We shouldn't assume everybody knows what initials stand for.

I don't watch much on QVC any more. especially food shows.  I cannot stand Alberti & Rachael, horrible.  hopefully they throw out the food that they touch. Chewing with their mouths full and talking.  Too much!!

@BeccaLou: TPTB refers to those in charge; in authority. For example, a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is considered to be TPTB.

The Powers That Be are the executives; first line decision makers; people who run the company; person in charge; honcho; El Jefe; the front office; the CEO; the big wig; the top dog; the decider; the first-in-command; the BOSS.
