Re: Can I freeze buttermilk?

shake it real well. What I do when I freeze in those tall plastic containers. just put one cup per container. Most recipes just call for one cup.

Re: Can I freeze buttermilk?

I am not a fan of buttermilk, and never buy it.   I do not use buttermilk in my biscuits or cornbread.  For other recipes that call for buttermilk, I just add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to regular milk, which is more cost effective for me than buying a product I do not like.

Re: Can I freeze buttermilk?

If you do freeze buttermilk, it might affect the texture. It can separate. You shouldn't freeze it longer than three months, and you should thaw it in the refrigerator and then stir it well.

Personally, I don't use enough of it to do that. So unfortunately, I will dump what I don't use after a week or so. But it's not too expensive.

I didn't like the powder version as well,
