Doesnt Campbells also own Prego sauces ?

Yes. I think of Prego as sugar sauce.  Apparently sweet tomato sauces are preferred by younger generations.

@PickyPicky3 - Have you tried Prego Farmers Market Classic Marinara? It is realllly tasty and the only sauce we will buy (we're not fans of Rao's at all around here).

Re: Campbell Soup Buys Rao's

I'll have to go stock up at Costco.  2 large jars for $13.99 here in NY.  I don't even make my own sauce anymore because of Rao's.  I see they said they won't change it but still....

Had no idea that they also own Swanson, V8, Prego and Pepperidge Farms, among other things.  That must be where they got their money.  The actual cans of soup are pretty retro, mom fed us them in the 50s.

@loriqvc   With your recommendation I'll give it a try. If nothing else, it's got a catchy name.

@PickyPicky3 - If you try it, you'll have to let me know what you think! Of course it's not as good as homemade, but we like it because of the flavor as well as the texture, which is not too thick or too thin. There's also a garlic version, but it's not nearly as good as the regular/classic version.

Maybe some Texans here can tell us if Campbell's changed Pace salsa  (a traditional Texas favorite) when they bought the company in 1995.

Sovos products catch a premium price in the supermarket - Rao's, Noosa, and Michael Angelo's.  I'm sure that caught the attention of Campbell executives.
