SmileI found a real bargain for a round cake carrier at Target in their plastic dept. The material is just like Tupperware and sturdy and under $10. I paid either $5.99 or $6.99 and it could be higher or lower depending on where you live in the country. You could also use it to store/carry a pie. It is big enough for a chiffon cake which I made recently. Other carriers I priced on line were well over $20. Check it out.

Have been a Tupperware consultant since 1961. Always used TW regular Cake Takers or the European TW Collapsible Cake Taker. Until I discovered the collapsible Progressive one. LOVE IT! Collapses down completely; holds a 10" triple layer decorated cake, angel cakes, Bundt cakes. Also has cupcake inserts that fold down to store inside. Got at BJs for $14.

Would never go back to either the regular or the collapsible TW ones.

That collapsible one sounds like a good idea! Cake takers take up so much space. I still use my TW pie takers.

But, for cakes, I just use a Lock & Lock bowl (#HSM948) and it's perfect for bundt cakes or layer cakes. Between uses I use them (I have a few of this size) for any number of things like storing half a watermelon in the refrigerator or large amounts of food when I either make a ham or a huge pot of soup/stew/chili, for until I portion it out to vac seal and freeze. These bowls are great and they are L&L quality so they last forever.
