Re: C'mon. 'Fess up. What cooking related item have you bought that you REALLY don't need?

If you're talking to me, yeah, these were monster green peppers and the reservoirs were way too small. It's really a well made pan, so I'll have to look for smaller peppers. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I think what MotherTrucker wants to know is, if she has to list all of the un-needed kitchen items she has bought{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

C'mon, Mothertrucker, name all your purchases so we're not alone here...

Holiday cupcake pans shaped like valentines etc that I never used. Other baking related items I never used. A juicer that I did use for a while but got sick of it. Oh so many things lol.

What a fun thread. I got the Lysol auto soap dispensers at WalMart,batteries last forever in it. Yes!!! someone else bought the Rocket Grill besides me. For some odd reason I never did get George Forman.. I think Divine wins the prize and at the same time I want one.lol I remember even as a little kid being mesmerized by watching the food gadget demonstrations at the Montana State Fair so I seem to fall for every new kitchen thing out there.

bread maker, juicer, blender, I think it's a lot on the line of electrical gizmos. A lot depends on the cleanup of the item involved. I make enough of a mess and use enough stuff, when I'm out in the kitchen and baking. LOL

Case in point: hubby thought he needed a lettuce spinner last week. Used once, and stored in the basement. Right by some of my seldom used items (never used items). We need a loaner store. Anyone up for a second business?

Wow, you just reminded me of a stuffed bell pepper pan by Norpro that DH talked me into buying. (He's a real fan of stuffed peppers.) First time I went to use it, my peppers were too big to fit, so I STILL ended up using a Corningware dish. Pepper pan is still unused. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Betteb, too bad we can't do an online garage sale. Smiley Wink

That's a really neat looking pan and I do love stuffed peppers....resist, I must resist!

Re: C'mon. 'Fess up. What cooking related item have you bought that you REALLY don't need?

I bought a Wolfgang Puck crepe maker. Love crepes but rarely make them. Hard to find the right pan. This machine is totally unnecessary but I rather like it. Only catch is that you can not whirl the pan so you have to learn how to spread the batter. Wolf make it look so easy. Of course I can do it, but not so evenly as he does. Can us it to grill anything really. Only challenge is where to store it. I still have it sitting on a side counter but it can not stay there. I really am rather enjoying this one but it is so, so totally unnecessary!

I also have a small inexpensive Forman grill that sits on my counter and it gets used more than anything other than my coffee pot! I have even figured out how to use it to toast bread (I refuse to get another toaster). It cooks any kind of burger or small pieces of meat or fish so fast from frozen. It is really a tremendous help for me.

Happy to list a few items - but don't feel like I have to 'fess up' because it was my decision to purchase and my money that was wasted.................

a cheese grater - a slow cooker - 2 pressure cookers - and a couple of QVC in the Kitchen /w David short-cut tools that were NOT better than what I already had....in my kitchen!

However, over all I've been satisfied and helped with most new purchases.
