Re: C'mon. 'Fess up. What cooking related item have you bought that you REALLY don't need?

this handbag I need to be punished and banned from handbag sites on internet.

Never mind. I didn't see the cooking item only. But now that you mention it I bought a tofu making kit. That stuff is harder and longer to make than cheese. Reading the directions wore me out.

These were my items that were seldom used, went to our garage and then to charity: Juicer, Ron Popeil pasta maker (DH didn't like the pasta); large Foreman grill (too large for my use); 10 QT. CE roaster (like the Nesco); first Nesco that wasn't non-stick and hard to clean.

I'll donate it if anyone will take it. Then one time I ordered a rice cooker. It has never even come out of the box! My kids are out on their own, they don't want it. I can't give this thing away! It will be donated as well I guess.

Before you donate that rice cooker check out the two blog entries entitled WP Rice Cooker under Kitchen & Food Talk: http://community.qvc.com/forums/kitchen-and-food-talk/topic/491995/pagenumber/1/index.aspx and http://community.qvc.com/forums/kitchen-and-food-talk/topic/494220/pagenumber/1/index.aspx

I have never seen the need for a rice cooker but saw the presentation on HSN about all the other meals that could be cooked in a rice cooker, so I bought one of the little Wolfgang Puck rice cookers…and I just love it!The little one makes whole meals for one or two people with no fuss, no muss. You may find that that dog item is really your next new treasure without spending a penny! It is worth a try…if you don't like it then, you can always donate it.

Love the WP little rice cooker. I'm using it at least 3 or 4 times a week. Almost fell for the egg cooker, but didn't. Don't have room and figured I wouldn't get enough use from it. Cute colors were appealing.

I didn't anticipate how interesting and funny these responses would be! Thank you all for sharing your dirty little kitchen purchases. I had completely forgotten that I bought an electric pressure cooker when I was setting up an apartment for my mom and dad - two years ago! We tried to use it once and it was an epic fail.. probably something I did wrong. I had totally forgotten about it.

Oh, and another thing.. I bought a deep fryer when my kids were teens. We used it a couple of times. I think it was donated before we moved from that house because I've never seen it again, however, the metal slotted spatula that came with it is the best kitty litter scooper i've ever had. The spatula has been next to our cat box all these years! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Notice no one says they never use their Kitchen Aid mixer or VitaMix!? Tells you something about what we do use the most.

I gave my KA mixer away to someone who could use it. It costs to much to be a dust collector.

Also rarely use the elec pressure cooker.

Item most used of all electrical appliances, crockpot.

You would have to pry my Vitamix and my KA mixer from my cold dead hands. Take the coffee bean grinder!

I had to finally reply: I've never purchased anything that I haven't made a permanent part of my kitchen equipment. Seems this is relative to my personality and not wanting to waste money.

Now my husband is another thing. I have to watch him every time we go to a county fair. That guy will buy the stupidest stuff you can imagine. LOL!

Now we use our little egg cooker a lot! We like soft and hard boiled eggs and it does a great job of them! Soda stream? A true waste of money, but for some reason, hubby feels better knowing it is waiting in the garage should he have a soda emergency.

Oh, and the bamboo steamer I have in the garage that was never used because I decided it was nasty to steam something on wood. . . {#emotions_dlg.blush} I decided that AFTER I bought it of course! Well, it was on SALE! {#emotions_dlg.closedeyes}

If you bought it on sale-it doesn't count as a stupid purchase!
