Does anyone buy books on QVC? If there is a book I'm interested I will go to Amazon to find the book. I can read the reviews and see if I like it rather than rely on the Q's pitch. Books on Amazon are cheaper and if you are a prime member they ship for free.

I agree. I never buy books from QVC.

I agree: in general, reviews on Amazon can be very helpful!

And this is why QVC offers a limited product selection -- people watch presentations on QVC and then shop elsewhere. This is why they focus on house brands and other products on which they can offer exclusive deals or easy pay.

This is not a criticism of the posters. I do the same thing.

Millions of people buy books through Amazon.

That's why so many bookstores are going under.

I'll go to Amazon if it's cheaper and available, but I did purchase a cookbook recently from HSN because it wasn't available on Amazon.

ATK's newest cookbook is cheaper on Q than Amazon. Also, Amazon now charges sales tax. That was a bit of a surprise.

Everything is reviewed on Amazon.com. So...I read customer reviews before I buy anything. And then I shop around. Kindle ebooks are the only things I buy from Amazon. I bought Joan's books from q. Autographed! And some cookbooks.

I agree.

In general, Amazon has the lowest prices that I've found for new books. I also love Barnes & Noble, and I will purchase books there on occasion, but even their books are pricier. For instance, I really wanted this particular cookbook. Bought it at B&N, and even with my member discount, it was over $20. I was not on my game when I purchased it and later checked Amazon and the same book-a newer release--was $15. A good $7 less.

Bookstores are convenient when you are looking for popular books and best sellers (whch I don't read) - but I can't tell you how many times I was at Barnes & Noble at Union Square and they didn't have what I was looking for. Now - I only shop there for magazines.

Amazon gets all my book business ...

Used / Out-of-print booksellers also get lots of business from me.
