Even my GP said that he only uses butter, that margarine has too many chemicals and is more unhealthy than butter.

Both ... a lot of both! -Olivio, I Can't Believe it's Not Butter, whipped butter, flavored butter.

I buy those small cartons of "flavored" butter.

I like "artisan" breads or bagels or rolls smothered in one of the above.

For cooking, I only use olive oil or canola oil or vegetable oil.

KerryGold Butter is my true addiction!  Exceptional true butter flavor, like I remember when growing up.  I use Kerrygold for hot bread, cooking and baking. I buy it at Costco, it is pricey, but imo, worth it.  I haven't used margarine for probably 40 years.  I also leave out in a tiny glass lock and lock container (new K49437) inverted.

I use Olive Oil mostly and butter...Never margarine or Crisco.

i don't want all those high processed chemicals in my body.

i never ate margarine as a child either.  My mother wouldn't buy it.  I tasted it at a friend's house and it was awful.

Always butter!!!  I only use margerine for 2 cookie recipes where I need equal amounts of butter, margerine and crisco to get te best results.

I use both a spread and butter. The spread is Olive Oil with Sea Salt. The only butter I buy is Kerrygold or European.

Family grew up on butter but Mom had margarine too for maybe a few recipes/baking, certainly not on the dinner table. Dad would never have it any other way.

Currently, DH & I use organic butter, ditched the marg years ago for everyday. However, mostly we do use organic olive oil for most cooking when needed.

Even at the height of my icky diet a million years ago,

butter/oil was never an issue.  Cooking without it is a breeze.

And I was more jelly-toast than butter-toast🤷‍♀️

We like KerryGold butter. Have a butter boat sitting on the cabinet with a stick in it all the time.

I do use it when baking sometimes. Have been using California Ranch Mild & Buttery olive oil making homemade bread & rolls.

I like it uses less oil when baking compared to another oil. They have a chart on their site.

Also use Safflower oil in baking.

We grew up with margarine as butter was more expensive. I haven’t had it since I left home.

Kerrygold is my favorite.
