The range for beef safe to eat is much lower than other meat,  it's only 145 degrees.  Pork, chicken, turkey, etc are 165.  Beef does look quite pink at 145.  
Your opinion may vary based on how you like your burger, but these are the facts.  Personally, I like well, well done. 


@Tori3569 You are right exept ground beef the safe temp is 160.  Ground meat is exposed to more surface areas of beef cuts where you might get a problem and is combined from a lot of different cuts from different animals.  So it is far more likely to be contaminated.

 

A better way is to buy whole cuts and grind it yourself.
