I've been buying all my baking goods from the local Amish that we have in our town. I store everything in my L&L containers. Never have problem with bugs.

I keep my flour, sugars, and cornmeal in the fridge. I have never done the freezer though.

As the King Arthur gal said the problem is in once the product leaves the original site. What it goes through to get to the stores in all different states and the stores themselves.
Freezing my stuff. Think freezing temp is 32' or lower

They don't buy from retail stores they have their own sources. Commercial quality

I sincerely doubt the flour used in bakeries is entirely bug free either.

You see where idiots eat chocolate covered grasshoppers and all kinds of stupid stuff like they're
on 'naked and afraid', so, I guess if we accidently ingest a bakery pest we won't know the difference.
