My mother always made buckwheat pancakes (we all called them hot cakes) and it would be a wonderful dinner once a week. When my kids were little, there was a buckwheat pancake mix that I used (think 40 years ago) and recently, I decided that I was going to make some buckwheat pancakes. I struck out at 3 different supermarkets near me. Do any of you remember how good buckwheat tastes? I understand now it is in demand because it is much closer to the original wheat of our ancestors. If any of you knows that there is a buckwheat product remotely resembling what I am looking for could you tell me about it? or do any of you know if I can buy buckwheat flour? I appreciate all help.

Thanks, Az, I have been craving them for weeks. I have heard of Bobs red mill but I don't have a W mart around me. I will do an internet search now that I know I can find it. What happened to all of the really good buckwheat pancake mixes in boxes?

You two are making me want to go out for breakfast. I can get Bob's Red Mill in Wh Foods, both the regular flour and the actual buckwheat pancake mix. I agree that they are the best pancakes!!! I haven't checked their website but I've been to SF many times and I know I've been to a Wh Foods. If you don't have one near you, you might try any health food store. Hope you find it.
Yum

Try Sturdiwheat.com. a small business from Red Wing MN. I've been ordering pancakes mixes from them for years, really good!
