There's nothing better than a good brownie.  My mom made the best brownies in the world.  I don't like frosting on my brownies.  Frosting ruins the brownie for me.

@chrystaltree  And, we will never forget those wonderful brownies without frosting that mama baked!

Unfrosted...if they are frosted, more like piece of cake...nope, unfrosted so I can enjoy the intense flavor of the chocolate brownie with all the lovely nuts and/or raisins inside.

@ScarletDove - Do you really put raisins in brownies? I've never heard of that before.

@loriqvc  Yep, my mother added raisins sometimes and I like raisins since adds to moistness, although not all the time...also sometimes put in some coffee to intensify the chocolate! Always put strong Sumatra coffee in my pumpernickel and rye breads....intensifies flavor!

A naked brownie is just as good as a clothed one!

@loriqvcIf you like raisins, give a try sometime...either white or regular raisins, and I make sure there are nuts.  I do not add as much raisins as I add nuts.  Nuts preferred are walnuts.

Re: Brownies: Frosted or Unfrosted

For me, they have to be fudgy brownies-not cakey.  I don't care if they are frosted or not but prefer not.  But the one thing I can't compromise on-I absolutely hate biting into a brownie and getting a hard piece of choclate be it a chip or chunk.  I can take nuts or not but cannot take the chips or chunks.
