I do not broil indoors. Never have. Don't like the mess and smell. And frankly, it's a little scary to me.

@Carmie  I'm going to look into your suggestion about the "water broiler."

@PA Mom-mom   I love mine.  I have no smoky kitchen, no flair ups.  I have none of the problems with broiling that others here complain about...and no greasy sticking aluminum foil.

If you like to broil, you will love it.

@Carmie

SOOOOO  like what you posted instead of what I use!  Where did you get that little gem?

I broil all of the time- meat, chicken, fish, French onion soup, or anything I need to melt cheese onto - even for a minute. My oven has a high and low setting depending on the food. I would miss it!  Smiley Happy

@ECBG  I found the website:

It's listed at $75.00. I'll have to think about that.

Never, never broil inside.  Do use the oven often, but no broil.  I have known to use the oven provided broiler pan as a drying rack 😛

If you use the water broiler to cook a roast, there doesn't seem to be any way to make gravy as there are no pan drippings to use.

I haven't broiled or fried for many years.  Instead I grill, roast or bake.
