Re: Broccoli-lemony Soup (Vitamix

I was just going to ask the same thing. I looked on todays recipes and on the vitamix.com and couldn't find it. All I remember is he used broccoli, water, lemon rind, boullion cube. I'm sure I missed something else.

Re: Broccoli-lemony Soup (Vitamix

Vitamix site has a Broccoli Cheese Soup. What if you left out the cheese & added some lemon. I saw one show today where a caller called in & asked about recipes they have on these shows. Jan told her all the recipes are in the books that come with the Vitamix, on Q site or on Vitamix site. NOT!!!. If they don't want to post the recipes when they show one they should say the name of the recipe & where to find it.

  • 1 cup (240 ml) skim or low fat milk
  • 1/2 cup (38 g) shredded low fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups (195 g) broccoli or cauliflower, fresh or frozen, steamed
  • 1 teaspoon diced onion
  • 1/2 chicken or vegetable bouillon cube

Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.

Select Variable 1.

Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.

Blend for 5-6 minutes or until heavy steam escapes from the vented lid.

Serve over additional steamed broccoli pieces. (optional)

This recipe has been written for the Vitamix 5200 with Standard 64-ounce container. If you are using a different Vitamix machine or container size, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable Speed, processing time, and/or ingredient quantities.

baileysue....i am hoping it will appear somewhere....i promise to post it if I find it. I wrote down the ingredients also but have no clue as to the amounts. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

nightowlz - I saw that same thing. I thought the response was pretty 'snarky'. And I, like you, have searched the website for the recipe and NOT is the correct response. Surprised by this, but it really does seem this is the new QVC!!{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Thank you for all the references...I begin my search. I hope QVC/VITAMIX will consider making these newer cookbooks (the ones they include with purchase) available to those of us that are already owners.

Re: Broccoli-lemony Soup (Vitamix

SUCCESS!!! After reading several recipes I decided to experiment and made my own recipe. I used about 1/2 head of broccoli (including stems/stalks) for every 2 cups of water. I have used Penzey's vegetable broth and chicken broth on different occasions - a little less than 1 tsp. per cup of water. I have also used the sodium free HerbOx Chicken. Put all the ingredients in the Vitamix and used lemon zest - about a third of the lemon - and then let the Vitamix do its thing for about 4 minutes. The soup was hot and delicious. I continue to tweak my ingredients. This soup has been a hit in my home. Even added a bit of shredded cheddar when serving!
