Qvc and HSN used to have 2qt pressure cookers, now I don't see any! I wish they would bring them back! Not everyone needs a large pressure cooker!

@remi77 Why? I'm a family of just me and I wouldn't have anything smaller than a 6 qt. You can cook a small quantity in a large pot but you can't cook a large quantity in a small pot. The last time I looked 3 qt sizes were widely available.

But, why would someone want to deal with a big pot if all they want to cook is small amounts? I kinda hate that saying David uses any time he's selling a big pot.
I have the CE 2 qt, and my main complaint is that they didn't sell extra seals for them. Seals wear out and need replacing, plus they take on the smell of the items you're cooking. I had that issue after cooking green beans in mine a couple of times. Took forever to get that smell out.
My other problem, and it's a me problem, is that there aren't many recipes written for the smaller than 6 qt cookers and I'm not good at downsizing recipes. You can't always just divide all the ingredients.
But, I agree with Kachina that there are some 3 qt manufacturers out there, and that's not much bigger than the 2 qt, so I'd suggest looking into one of those. Cosori comes to mind, but there are a few others available

@Icegoddess It's all about options. You may want to cook a small amount today but a larger quantity tomorrow. With a 6 qt you can do either; with a small pot you're out of luck.

@Kachina624 that's fine if you want to be able to cook those different amounts. But, if you know you won't, why buy a bigger pot that you have to find more space to store it in?
I got the 2 qt. just to see if I would use a pressure cooker. Turns out, I really won't. I love it for hard boiled eggs to get easy to peel shells, but other than that, I really haven't seen a need for it. I'm not a soup or stew cooker. And much like the crock pot, I don't like cooking my veggies in the same pot as the meat since it all comes out tasting the same.

@Icegoddess, a standard 2 qt replacement gasket fits that model. Amazon sells them for like $10 or $12 for a two pack.
I like my 2 qt pressure cooker if I’m just making hard boiled eggs or rice or a side dish because it fits better in my dish washer.
@RollTide2008 Thanks. I looked for them on Amazon and couldn't find them awhile back. Too bad you can't post a link. I'll go look again.

@remi77 We have had a lot of pressure cookers over the years and hands down the Instant Pot is the only one we've used consistently--and I'm talking about the 3 qt. one!
For the two of us we use it a lot. We have a 6 qt. but it almost never gets used--it is a lot bigger, heavier and more space than we usually need.
I can't say enough good about the 3-qt. IP!!!

My pressure cooker is the old school, put it on the stove top, jiggly weight on the lid type.

@CelticCrafter I still have that one too. It served me well for 40+ years, although the electrics have me spoiled now.
