Breville Toaster Oven Air Fryer Pro

I have been researching air fryer ovens and am leaning toward purchasing the Breville Air Fryer Pro. I would welcome comments regarding this item and any other brand.

Re: Breville Toaster Oven Air Fryer Pro

We have the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro and love it. Our traditional oven's heat vents into the room and adds too much warmth during these summer months. We use our Breville year round for almost everything.

The Breville oven is convection so there is a bit of learning curve with family recipes on temperature and cooking time. I would highly recommend purchasing.

I have had mine for a couple of years and love it. Rarely turn on my oven. It reheats leftovers pretty fast.

@On It  Thank you for your recommendation. Is your air fryer plugged in to a dedicated outlet? Also what type space is needed surrounding air fryer for proper air circulation? Can it be placed on countertop with cabinets above? Do you use air fryer for breakfast toast? i see online suggestions for cleaning regular oven by placing pan with water in oven and heating oven allowing steam to clean inside of oven; could this be a method to clean inside of air fryer?

@Hilery Our Breville sits on our countertop beneath our cabinets. We use the standard outlet, but I choose not turn on another appliance using that outlet while the Breville is on. We allow a couple of inches at the back away from the wall. It really does not get extremely hot.

Think of it as an oven that is also an air fryer. There is a basket tray used to air fry. It is as simple as putting the food in the basket, inserting it on the designated shelf, and turning the dial to select air fry. Push start.

We use the toast function to toast breads with toppings. It could certainly be for basic toast as well. There are multiple settings for all kinds of tasks. The Bake option is our most used.

I have owned one about a year now and I love it.  I use my Breville everyday for all of my cooking.  The air fryer is great.  It makes all my fried chicken from QVC and shrimp really nice and crispy.  I could not live without it.  I gave my old one (w/o air fry) to my son and when a repair man came to install a microwave in his home he noticed the Breville and told my son he chose very well in purchasing it.  He said Breville was an excellent choice.

I have the original Breville and enjoyed it for several years.  Gradually, one by one various functions quit working until it totally quit and became inoperable after about 5 years.

@Hilery  I've noticed my oven developed some rust inside and around the outsides edges just from the steam from food.  I don't think deliberately steaming the interior would be a good idea.

@On It My Breville is about 6 or 7 years old.  It's the compact (not mini) and I just gave it to my son.  I bought myself a new one which looks almost exactly the same as the compact but it's also a convection oven.

It's so new I haven't used it yet.  I need to read the instructions before I do.  Do you know what the difference is between the "air fry" function & the convection function?  TIA!

Re: Breville Toaster Oven Air Fryer Pro

@haddon9 There is a select dial to the left of the "Start/Stop" button. Airfry is a choice. When you select it, 400 degrees is automatically chosen and 18 minutes. It is all about the heating elements. In fact, Toast, Bagel, and Broil are all three using the same command for the broil element.

All of the choices beginning with Bake (there are 10) are Convection. The temp and time are automatically selected by choosing Pizza, Cookies, etc. I most often use Bake which allows me to select the temp and time myself. (They are the larger knobs below the start button.) The automatic settings like Cookies can be adjusted up or down. I just forget to use them.

I hope this helps.
