I found having to negotiate and clean the glass top of the Nuwave to be very awkward.  Then one night it came on by itself and was very hot when I found it the next morning.  Wouldn't shut off unless unplugged.  I took the whole thing and put it in the trash and got a Breville.

Love my Breville too. It is the BEST kitchen item I have purchased in ages. I too would replace it in a minute if something happened to it.

@CLEM,  I bought K45531 when it was Q2s Big Deal a few months ago.

Paid less ($69.something) for the newest model than I did some years back for the one I wore out.

Also, had free S&H (I think the shipping is usually $7.50 ) on that Big Deal, and I think 5 easy pays. They also threw in BOTH RACKS and some very nice silicone kitchen ware and a set of heavy duty plastic cutting boards.

The model I wore out is no longer being made. Looks like the one in your picture.

The new improved dome is a high impact, heat resistant plastic. The new domes are amber color, which is supposed to help with maintaining constant temps inside the dome. If the dome isn't amber colored it's older and discontinued. The improved dome is also about 1" shorter overall which helped me quite a bit.

The dome weighs next to nothing. The weight is in the powerhead, just as it is in the Brevelle.

I was careless and rough on the 1st dome.

Dropped it more than once, and kept it is a cramped spot causing me to bash it against the cupboards all the time.

I baby the new one.
