Re: Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes

I haven't tried the mashed potatoes.  Purchased the mac & cheese for my dad but haven't made it yet.  Good to know you all like the brand!

I really enjoy Bob Evans mashed potatoes—they also make individual cups that are a great quick lunch since they require just a minute and a half in the microwave. Even with no toppings or stir-ins, they've got a great flavor. I like BE better than Reser's; the latter isn't yucky or anything, but I like the taste and texture of BE more.

@loriqvc Not as good as mine, but I like them for a quick side.  I, too, prefer those individual cups, but my Publix never carries them.  Sometimes I can find them in Kroger.  I like to keep one in the fridge and put the rest in the freezer.  When I use one, then I pull one out of the freezer and put in the fridge for next time.

@Icegoddess - Oh, yes, homemade trumps all the storebought kinds every time, but as much as we love mashed potatoes, sometimes we don't want to eat a big batch multiple days in a row, so individual already-prepared servings are great. I do always get the cups at my local Kroger affiliate; sometimes the Walmart that is in the next city over has them as well.

Love them. Buy them often! I doctor mine up a bit with more seasoning, but my husband and I love seasoning...I also have purchased the various variations and like them too.

I make my Mashed Potatoes from scratch - Takes less than 30 minutes from peel to plate (LOL)

I tried Bob Evans and the Main Street ones too - Just to see if they compare - Nope! - Nothing like homemade. Smiley Tongue

Yikes! The sodium content is through the roof! Just make your own omitting the salt.

I really like them and prefer Bob Evans to Reser's; guess I'm in the minority there. They're very handy for me to make just for myself. I don't eat them often but sometimes I just get a craving. I like them with a dollop of horseradish stirred in. Actually, someone brought them to my Thanksgiving dinner. We had rice and dressing but her son prefers mashed potatoes. It was handy not to have to peel, boil, and mash the potatoes with the stove already full.

DH says they are good but says his are better. I don't like them so I won't eat them. I hate food with a mushy texture. It makes me gag for some reason? My dad always said it's all in my head.

Bob Evans are the only ones I buy if I don't make them.  Also the mac & cheese is good.
