I want to make blueberry muffins for a Christmas breakfast we'll be attending. I am in the Midwest, and fresh blueberries are only sweet during the summer, so I won't be making homemade blueberry muffins.  What is the best mix I can buy?

I guess I'd still make my own with blueberries from Aldi's.

Over the years, I've tried fresh blueberries from multiple stores including Aldi, and they are tasteless or bordering on sour unless it's summer. Otherwise, our Aldi has wonderful produce.

Wymans Wild Blueberries are delicious.  You can find them by the froze fruit.

I make blueberry muffin bread thru the year. I do not use fresh berries. I learned to use the frozen blueberries from Trader Joe's. I give it to people as gifts for their birthday (it is requested ) and it seems most enjoy.

@Ainhisg.  Use frozen blueberries.  The dried ones in muffins are like hard BBs.  Don't use a mix.

I seem to recall one mix that included a tiny can of blueberries, but I don't remember the brand. That was a few decades ago!

@AuntG,

That is Betty Crocker blueberry muffin mix. I always used that and they had the can of blueberries. I thought it was always very good!

I agree with others that frozen (organic or not) blueberries are always so good and much better than the large mushy tasteless fresh blueberries if you decide to make them from scratch.

I prefer to make mine from scratch like other posters.  But if I'm pressed for time or ingredients, I'd choose Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry.
