Bit of a bait & switch, QVC? Re: KC Ham OTO

I was glad to see this was on for OTO this hour because I missed the deal at the KC site the other day because QVC dinked around before cancelling my old advance order. Then they cancelled it on me.

So, anyway, I was glad to see that this one was going to be an OTO

So I go to order the item shown at the OTO price and it is NOT the weight given on the screen, but the smaller one. The one that is 7.25 to 8.5lb is still at the higher price and they created a new number for the OTO one, but it's ACTUALLY 6.5 to 7.75lb.

Not cool.

Sorry, either because of stupid photobucket (should have put the image up on Flickr) or the stupid website here, I could not get the picture to come up.

What it is, is a screen shot of the item number, picture, details, and oto price for the ham that does NOT match up to the actual size info when you pull up the item number (M44917).

They're complete 2 different orders. One is larger than the other. It's entirely possible that that one will also. The ham in your picture is still available for the same easy pays of $18.25

The OTO is a smaller ham. It's easy pays are $16.09. For food they've always used the same pictures, hardly a bait and switch.

Well, I can understand but it wasn't the picture that made me think the size was wrong. It was that when you pull up THAT item number you don't actually get a ham that is 7.25 to 8.5lb. You get one that is 6.5 to 7.75. Sorry if I was unclear. Smiley Happy

The picture I took there was a screen shot of live tv (I just paused it of course) so the picture has other stuff, i.e. the Junior's box behind it.

Could it be they're counting on first time shoppers who are not going to know that?

Oy! The picture is a picture I took with MY camera of the shot on tv, when they began the show. There were a number of different items on a two-level table. I just concentrated my shot to catch the graphic of the item number and details. The picture of the ham is immaterial.

On second thought - never mind.

HA! I give up. I know better. I reported the thread so it will go away.

It wouldn't matter, more like the camera crew flashed the wrong picture. I've seen that happen more than once. The OTO was smaller and cheaper. CB's picture is still the same picture and the same price. I imagine the OTO is more today. Not sure what the problem is. Much ado about nothing.

I totally understand what you are saying, and I do agree with what you are saying....The PICTURE is not an issue, but the weight of the OTO showing on the screen was not the true poundage of what you were truly getting, but much lower, when you would actually order it...{#emotions_dlg.crying}

I don't think it was bait and switch versus a mistake. Regardless, you should call customer service - or, even better, post on Facebook with the picture showing the graphic with the wrong weights and ask to get the price posted.
