For some time now, prior to purchasing anything Kitchen, I turn to America's Test Kitchen. They have honest, unbiased Youtube videos on almost any product you can think of. I have never been disappointed on anything I purchased with their recommendation.

Funny, @ncmama, in the beginning, I lapped up a lot of their recommendations, ways to cook, etc.

But after awhile, I found myself thinking that way too many of their recipes were ridiculously time consuming, & didn't always agree w/ pricey brand rec$.

"How can we make something simple more expensive & complicated?" ought to be their motto.

And I grew to really dislike Chris Kimball! Smiley LOL

There's so much recipe & food content online now, it seems silly that they're still subscription based.

I'm glad you had luck with them, @ncmama.

I used to like them but gradually it felt like their YouTube videos

turned into sales commercials for the products

they list & link to in their video descriptions

directly under the video.

.

(Usually Amazon links, like so many Amazon Associates & Affiliates nowadays.)

Their website requires joining to see a lot of the content.

A lot of the free parts of their website is also commercial sales promos with links to buy what they recommend from various retail sites including Amazon.

I agree with @sabatini , there's so many others with great free info that don't feel so interested in sales promos. 🤔🤷‍♀️😊 jmho

@ncmama  I do like to watch the ATK and Cooks Country videos, but I also find their techniques to complicated for me. Still, the way they explain everything helps me to understand what's going on. I like to watch the product reviews and tastings, but I don't always agree.  Plus, they don't always have access to the regional brands we have.

I just started being a recipe tester for them, and so far the recipes have required me to purchase seasonings and expensive ingredients that I don't always have. But, I'm going to keep trying. It does bug me that you have to subscribe to their website, even if you are a tester.

They usually site OXO for their best liked brand.  I have purchased many OXO products but often wondered if OXO was paying them on the side or something.  LOL

I watch those 3 shows too, on reg TV and often think it all looks easy and looks delicious. But you can't get their recipes without having to join and pay to join. I did buy the huge, heavy cookbook that had all the recipes up to season 22 I think----it was under $30 for that monster.

@sabatini I agree 100 percent with what you said!  Like the more dishes, pots and pans you use the better it is?  NOT! Woman Very Happy
