I generally use boiling water and some degreaser.  I have done oven cleaner in a bag if it's bad.   They have nontoxic sprays these days.   I also use a heavy duty SS scrub pad.

Re: Baking pans, oily baked on buildup, aluminum baking sheets, cleaning, etc.!

Parchment paper is the way to go!  I started using it years ago and haven't looked back.  One of my pet peeves has alwabys been the filmy mess that starts to appear on baking sheets.

I thought that this buildup came from cooking sprays which I stopped using. I threw my old ones out and repurposed some in the garage/work room. I purchased just a few havy duty ones (Wilton) and stop using cooking spray. I use either veggie or olive oil and they seem to be doing fine. I would hesitate to try any solution and put it in the oven. I've had enough bad reactions from cleaning combinations with ceramic tile.
