I swear, people can get so bent out of shape over such minor things.  The nerve of QVC to sell a cleaning product during a kitchen show.  Actually, it makes perfect sense to me.  I guess I'm a weirdo.

Doesn't bother me.  I don't watch ITKWD anyway. Can't stand the silliness and the phony takes on "Southen".  But I love it when there's a guest host, and I am enjoying watching Mary on Saturdays. Thanks QVC for some more serious and more knowledgeable variety. Mary is definitely more interested in the product than in the food, unlike other hosts.

I'm sorry but what is Southen?\

Southern is making fun of how some people who live in the South say words like pie incorrectly. Thankfully very few people actually do this.

Just someone cildish, who thinks it's funny.  It disgusts me.

So I guess  what this post shows is actually that there are people  out there who don't know the actual meaning of "bait and switch".. Since I work in a field highly regulated against this particular practice, I found..Where I work, a real bait and switch can get you prosecuted, fined, and even jail time..

Just like there are people that might call a heavy rain a "monsoon',  or heavy snow a "blizzard"..I think the OP was just making a point...And not considering the legal meaning of this perjorative term.

Unfortunately, besides cleaning and food, there were only three kitchen items in the 3/29 show.

There was no bait and switch. It was mentioned on Sunday ITKWD that there was going to be Weds ITKWD the cleaning edition before the ITKWD.

@mollymaggie  I think the innocent people making a living are doing just fine.  The OP has accused QVC of doing something (bait & switch) which is in most jurisdictions highly illegal.  She needed to be corrected.

Please feel free to skip our mundane posts.

I agree. I opened this thread because I thought there had actually been a bait & switch.  But that's not what happened at all.  Bait & switch is a pretty serious thing, and much different than a host giving a heads-up re what type of products will be shown.

David did nothing wrong.  It's far better for someone to point out that there was NOT a bait & switch than to let such a serious accusation stand.

And nothing posted here is going to impact innocent people trying to make a living.  These are forums, so of course hosts & programming are going to be discussed.  All QVC cares about is whether the hosts bring in sales.  That's not a criticism - That's the way it is, and the way it should be. Not every host will be liked by every viewer.  QVC understands that.  No jobs hang in the balance based on anything here.  It's all about showing up on time and hitting the sales numbers that QVC wants.  Both positive and negative opinons are part of forums, so there's nothing wrong with not being positive all the time.

She "needed to be corrected?"   Wow, the audacity.   In my opinion, the Board Police  need to get a sense of humor.   I suppose some are too dense to realize that by "bait and switch" she simply meant that we expected to see ITKWD and not cleaning products, but then you knew that.

We all understood what she meant once she explained what actually happened.  Which was clearly not bait & switch.

And she did need to be corrected because she accused David of doing something that is illegal.  It has nothing to do with a sense of humor.  It was a huge accusation when the reality was that it was a very minor issue re programming.  Criticism is fine, but accusing a host of doing something glaringly wrong and illegal that they clearly did not do is a whole other story.  It's fair to David and to QVC to set the record straight.

Why don't you just all grow up and stop that bickering.  It used to be nice to come to the Kitchen forum.

Have a pleasant evening!

At the risk of sounding stupid, can anyone share with me what OP stands for?  I'm new to the forums, does it stand for "original poster"?  Also, when I try to insert an emojo it comes out written, what am I doing wrong, lol... Thanks for any help you can give me, much appreciated.

@Sueliz  Yes, OP means original poster.  When you insert an emojo, I think once you click on post it will change to whatever you inserted,  I am not sure myself, but I will try it now then we can see.  Good luck!  Woman Very Happy
