Bacon Fattylicious

[ Edited ]

It's that time of year!  Original Recipe

  • 1 package Ore-Ida® Tater Tots
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 4 Slices of cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 ounces stuffing
  • 1/4 cup bacon grease

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat 13x9 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place Tater Tots, Peppers and Onions into bottom of baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together soup, cream cheese, bacon and sour cream. Spoon evenly over Tater Tot mixture and sprinkle with cheese. Top evenly with stuffing mix and drizzle with bacon grease.
  3. Bake uncovered for 60 to 70 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

DiAnne, my kids give this a thumbs up.  I'm making it for a Christmas party at work tomorrow and decided to post the recipe here.

spix, the bacon is cooked first.  Use the grease to add to the stuffing.

Thanks for pointing that out; I made the edit in the OP.

It tastes really good.  The first time I made it, it was for the kids the night before Thanksgiving.  It disappeared a lot faster than I planned.

WOW!!! 1/4 c BACON GREASE....that is a lot of bacon grease. I would rather cook a pound or two of bacon and put that in the casserole. I prefer bacon to grease. My gal bladder would be doing some serious complaining! I will try this but without the grease, maybe dots of butter or just without all together.
