@october72 .. you brought up a topic that I was going to ask in another forum, but since I have you ... on your Banana Bread - have you always baked in a metal pan? Asking because I make pumpkin bread, but in pyrex glass pans and comes out perfect. For banana bread, I also tried glass, but if I leave it in the over for the suggested baking time, the outside would be near burnt. Should I switch to metal pans for banana bread?

After reading the in-depth article and research that Consumer Reports published in 2012 regarding the "new" Pyrex and Anchor Hocking, I finally decided that what I had previously been hearing was no long rumor status. I trashed all but my one old Corning casserole.
I didn't switch to Temptations, though. I have and love Emile Henry and Le Creuset stoneware, along with some French porcelain pieces. They continue to serve me well, no cracking or crazing.
And Iike that I can buy just the pieces that I want, not sets of stuff.

People have to do what's right for them. I have all kinds of glass/stoneware bakeware. I use my temptations the most. I've never had problems. I also have pyrex, anchor hocking, Denmark tools, even a few Visions left. I have Corelle dishes, but no bakeware.

My favorite silicone trivets are Le Creuset brand. Now, you might see that brand name and think they're $50 trivets or something, but they are very affordable.
I like these because they are thick and durable. The ones I've had for years still look like brand new. They don't chip off or fade out at all.

I also love silicone trivets! I bought mine a few years ago at Bed Bath and Beyond.
FYI, you can buy clear Borosilicate bakeware on Amazon. I have some and it works great.

I own and use a lot of Temptations, different patterns and colors for different seasons, and I like them for what the are. Fun matching dishes, but I know they won't last for generations.
When starting into Temp-tations, I only put my Corningware and Pyrex in the basement, I didn't give it away. I'm glad I didn't. Now I alternate, according to my mood or what I'm making. I'm really glad I didn't give away the Corningware, especially, because it will last forever, and gives me every bit as good results as the TT.

You know, I LOVE my pyrex dishes. Have many in the classic French White and have had them for many years. They still look great and do the job. I'm not a fan of the temptations line and really don't like the patterns or colors. I prefer the white for my serving dishes, then everything will match back to it.
