As to the OP -
I just saw a news runner that said August 31 for availability in stores.
I don't think they sell it out here, so I cannot check, but hopefully those of you in the region where it's sold will be able to acquire it. Yay for ice cream!

Just heard on the radio that Blue Bell will be returning in 5 stages. Unfortunately for us, New Orleans and all of south Louisiana is in Stage 4.
Due to the limited production capacity while producing in one facility, Blue Bell will re-enter parts of 15 states in five phases. The first of the five phases will be similar to how Blue Bell began and include the Brenham, Houston and Austin, Texas, areas, as well as parts of Alabama, (Birmingham and Montgomery) where the product is being made. The next phases include:
Phase Two: North central Texas and southern OklahomaPhase Three: Southwest Texas and central OklahomaPhase Four: The majority of Texas and southern Louisiana.Phase Five: Complete the states of Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas and begin distribution in Arkansas, Florida, northern Louisiana and Mississippi. This phase will also include only parts of the following states: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

I need to see if they sell it in my area. I think we're in Turkey Hill country (which is just nasty ice cream IMO).
It started in Texas and is sold mostly in the South and Southwest. It's worth moving to have it. The first few years I was in NM, we didn't have it. One day I went to the store and there it was. I was so excited!
I'm on the border of "the South" so I may be able to find it at a Southern-leaning store. I will have to ask my Southern friends if they can get it here.
I travel a lot, so I may find it in my travels.
My interest is piqued!
Blue Bell KNEW they had Listeria problems and they did not fix it. Then they mismanaged the recall. Three people died and many more got sick. The CDC investigation showed that has been giving people Listeria since 2010. I wouldn't be in any hurry to hunt them down and give them a try. I have no idea why they've garned suched a rabid loyalty, but I don't think they respect that loyalty and I don't think they deserve it.

I love to read your posts but I think I prefer your "artwork" at least right now.
Man I am tired of buying other brands of ice cream.
