The Oklahoma plant is right down the highway from my house - I pass it every day going to work. I don't think it's set to open for awhile yet. I do love their ice cream and seasonal flavors, in particular, but I also love Ben and Jerry's just as well.

I am tickled pink with the news but since the Texas and Oklahoma plants are not up yet we will probably be the last ones in line with our hands out. Oh well, it has been a long time and I can wait a bit longer. All that Blue Bunny, Breyers, and even the Baskin Robbins I bought a little of is just not on the level as Blue Bell.

It was reported on the local NBC affiliate in DFW today that the first Blue Bell shipments would be sent to HEB stores in Houston in mid September. They said it would only be vanilla and Dutch chocolate flavors at the start.

San Antonio Express News had article today stating about the same thing. All AREA H-E-B stores should see Blue Bell by mid-September. Didn't mention anything about other retailers. Can't wait ![]()

Blue Bunny is absolutely disgusting. I don't know how they stay in business. Blue Bell is good, but it's not spectacular.

Thanks for the heads up although I'm not in Houston. Their vanilla isn't worth buying IMO, Costco's Kirkland vanilla is a lot richer and creamier than Blue Bell.
