I won't have to post...you'll hear a loud, sound barrier breaking whoop from the South. I'm soooo ready.

I don't think I've ever had Blue Bell ice cream but I see this thread every day and now I need to find it. LOL
I need to see if they sell it in my area. I think we're in Turkey Hill country (which is just nasty ice cream IMO).

It started in Texas and is sold mostly in the South and Southwest. It's worth moving to have it. The first few years I was in NM, we didn't have it. One day I went to the store and there it was. I was so excited!

Sincere question & no snarkiness intended: What's the big ballyhoo about that brand? There was a lot of hype about it on the local news channels when it came to Denver a few years ago, so I went to the store & literally took a carton out of the hand of the guy loading it into the shelves. It was good, but I did' t think it was all that great. Guess it's just a matter of personal preference. I'll stick with Boulder Ice cream. Besides, it's a local company.

It is very good ice cream! They have their basic flavors and then seasonal ones and special ones that pop up some time. They have a nice web site so you can go on and see what flavors to scout around for in the season. Their lemon is great, and the flavors that incorporate peach.
I think the real appeal in addition to the consistency and mouth feel of the ice cream is that the flavors aren't goofy things that they think up but very appealing combinations. They are flavors that are well thought out and not just things put together to grab attention and make a buzz.
I love their chocolates and their strawberry is very good. The coffee is simply perfect--flavor wise--to me.
The packing is nice, it keeps the ice cream fresh for a long time and it is easy to get it out of the carton--nice tight fitting lid, east to scoop out because the carton is wide enough and deep enough.

I'm on the border of "the South" so I may be able to find it at a Southern-leaning store. I will have to ask my Southern friends if they can get it here.
I travel a lot, so I may find it in my travels.
My interest is piqued!
