Filet Mignon medium rare. We always buy the whole tenderloin & cut the steaks. Think we will cook a couple on the grill this weekend. My FIL used to order his steak well done until the restaurant brought out one that was pink & he tried it & said it taste so much better. DUH!!! If you want steak well done don't waste your money.

I like mine with just a little salt and medium rare. I had my first filet mignon when I was about 14 years old and it was AMAZING, just melt in your mouth beef. Well, that one spoiled me because I have ordered it 3 more times since, none came close to that first piece and I gave up because it isn't worth the price. Oh well...

I prefer rib eye steak or prime rib. Rare. Well done reminds me of a piece of shoe leather, why ruin a good piece of meat.
