Re: Atkins Has The Best Bars Ever!

Just wanted to tell you all that after replying to this thread yesterday I had to run to the store. None of the Atkins stuff was on sale--however, I needed them and wanted to try something new that I hadn't had before. I'm going to forget the exact name, but it's a caramel cluster-y type name and the bar tastes like a SNICKERS! Yes, ladies, a Snickers. And it has 130 calories. Love having these in the house now for when that craving hits. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

I stock up on the Atkins snack bars & the meal bars when they are BOGO! Great deal! I have had every kind that is on the market & enjoyed them all.

Barbarainnc, yes they have peanut butter ones! All kinds with peanuts, even has a snack bar that is just like "payday" bars! I also like the bars with caramel in them! The M&M's are really good.

Who does this?

Publix grocery stores in my area has the Atkins bars & dinners for BOGO's. I get the weekly ad emailed to me. I also live in FL. & Walmart's matches the other sale items no matter what store(Winn Dixie, CVS, Wal-greens, Publix, etc.) including BOGO's!

Thanks so much!!!

Re: Atkins Has The Best Bars Ever!

I have tried several versions of the meal replacement bars and while they are very tasty, they do not keep my hunger away for very long at all.

The Cookies and Cream meal replacement ones are very, very tasty.

It's strange how when ever a subject like this comes up, people who know absolutely NOTHING about it, feel the need to jump in and display their ignorance. Like that garbage about ALL nutrition and protein bars being "candy bars". Could one be anymore ignorant of the subject?

Calling me "ignorant" is not going to benefit anyone...and you know that. I've done my homework...and I stand by my comment of Atkins or any bars being "like candy". Those bars are a processed food...just like a candy bar. I'm a big proponent of plant based whole foods to meet my nutritional needs...cheaper & healthier than processed anything.

And to show I've done my homework...I compared the nutritional info for the following:

Atkins Day Break Cranberry Almond Bar:
Calories: 150
P: 10 g
C: 16 g
F: 6 g

Apple (small), Hemp Hearts (2T) & Spinach (1 cup) : Calories: 212
P: 7g
C: 32g
F: 8g

Atkins small, 1.2oz bar is filled w/ palm oil, processed proteins, artificial flavors twice the sodium. My option, apple-hemp-spinach, is clean-burning fuel, portable, healthy & loaded with EFAs, iron & fiber...and more vitamins & minerals than anyone can shake a teeny-tiny bar at....and much, much more filling. Just be more nutritionally aware & do the math. SMH...it's so simple.

I love the Atkins Chocolate Mousse bar. I have a very bad sweet tooth so I find eating these helps me control those cravings. Vitacost.com gives great prices, and free shipping if you spend $49(I think).

That's fine sidsmom, feel free to eat what you wish to eat. DO NOT however tell ME how to eat especially since what you've already tried to tell me and other diabetics to eat would have us in the hospital!

Awesome! Providing the same nutritional %, but due to my cyber name, is not good enough. I never said anything about diabetes in this thread (although some of those responses are providing fodder for my other forums)...it's about Atkins & chemicals many, many people are injesting everyday. I was just providing a whole foods, natural, cheaper alternative....but if you want to purposefully eat chemicals, Godspeed.
