Re: Are you territorial when it comes to your kitchen?

DH is great on the wood grill and I don't want to interfere with that.  I do keep a very clean kitchen and wait until he's in the man cave to redo.  I guess our definitions of "done" vary.  Actually, my definition of done differed with his mother's.

@house_cat I'm not territorial as you are but can't stand people in the kitchen with me when I'm  cooking. Especially holiday meals when you have to concentrate - this is in oven for 45 minutes, that for 35, add cheese to the top of this last 5 minutes, etc.  I have to concentrate & be alone or I'll  mess dinner up. Can chat DURING or AFTER dinner.

I do this also, I have a list of everything I will be serving and times they go in the oven, even things just refrigerated so I don't forget to serve anything.  Its easy to get distracted when entertaining and you are serving lots of dishes.

I am and I pretend that I'm not. I always say when my Mr's aunt is here, "go ahead, you know where everything is"

que me going to show her where everything is so she doesn't mess up my system. If my system is in fact messed with I'm annoyed. I don't want bowls mixed up, the wrong scrub daddy used, I don't want dishwater sitting 1/2 way up in the sink with floating things from doing dishes earlier.

Did you know that you can label alarms on your iPhone?

This was a game changer when I figured it out - so easy and saves me lots of grief.

That's a great idea!  I'll ask my DILove to do that since she has an iPhone.  I have a Samsung.

I do all of the cooking since my degree is the original Home Economics although, I embraced the clothing and design areas. We have a lot of artists in our family.

My goodness no not territorial!  It is our kitchen.  When we have people over, it's where they congregate no matter what.

My husband and I both cook, and both clean up and keep things neat--always have since we both worked.  In our current house, it is modern and adjacent to a living area--with a table and chairs and a bar and bar stools.  It's the heart of our home!

Only when SIL comes over on holidays when I am preparing dinner and dumps her purse which has been on floors everywhere on my kitchen counter tops.

Re: Are you territorial when it comes to your kitchen?

Only a bit territorial...mainly right after I have cleaned the kitchen. It drives me  bonkers when dh or one of my sons comes in and messes up the countertop before I have even left the kitchen I just spent time cleaning.

I was way worse when I worked. I have become much more laid back since I retired. And these days, just happy dh is here to mess up any room.
