Anyone use a pressure cooker?

I bought one a couple of months ago and have still not taken it out of the box. Not sure what to cook in it.

Wondered if other use one and do you like it.

Congrats!

Your pc must have come with a user guide and some recipes,  so take a look at the recipes and see if there are any you would like to make.

There are also a ton of pc recipes on line, and there are also pc cook books to purchase.

Just look for your type of pc... whether stove top model, electric, or digital, and then have a go.....also get some recipes from the sites I listed below...

Good luck Nadine01, and you will love using your pc, because it saves so much time and energy......and the results are truly delicious.

Yes, I use mine about twice a week. I cook whole grains/rices- I make vegan soups/stews. I use my pressure cooker and my Vitamix more than anything in the kitchen, (besides the fridge!)

Re: Anyone use a pressure cooker?

I have an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker that I bought on Black Friday. I use it at least once a week. The first thing I made was Kahlua Pork from the website NomNomPaleo. Give it a try.

Yes love pressure cookers. When I first bought one I put it in the cabinet & did not use it for a while. I did not know what to do with it. I got it out started using it with a little trial & error. I like to make soups & stews in it during the winter. It makes yummy pulled pork.

Re: Anyone use a pressure cooker?

i purchased one last Christmas and did the same thing. I finally got it out of the box and read the book.  The Pioneer Woman  has a recipe for "drip beef" which is easy and very good. This was my first thing I tried and it was very good. I'm still learning but my goal is to use it weekly.  I'm slowly getting there. Good Luck!

Re: Anyone use a pressure cooker?

I bought one from QVC several years ago. I used it a few times and then made the mistake of storing it and basically I forgot about it. I remembered to get it out a couple weeks ago and I made a pot roast in 45 minutes. It was delicious! Guess I need to find a place where I can see it and start using it more.

Re: Anyone use a pressure cooker?

Congrats! You sound like me...I just got mine last fall. The first thing I made was rice and as funny as this sounds it was the best rice I ever made (used chicken broth instead of water). Tasted like it was from a restaurant! The next thing I tried was a beef and broccoli made from a cheap cut of presliced beef and it was so delicious I was sold! Anyway, do what everybody else is suggesting and go online and find some recipes that sound good to you. You'll be glad you did.

Re: Anyone use a pressure cooker?

I had both electric and stove top ones years ago but never used them. A former co-worker used one the time so I decided to buy a new one after I retired.  I LOVE it! At first I used it mainly for rice, beans, split pea soup, etc. Now I use it for all sorts of things...I find recipes online sometimes. But often I just look up the cooking time for whatever I've decided to cook in the manual that came with it and basically just cook like I always have...except a lot faster.
