Anyone Have The Ming Square Red Copper Pan?

I've used mine several times, no problem, but the other day DH made grilled cheese sandwiches in it.  They were definitely NOT burned, but the center of the pan seems damaged and there were some black bits which didn't come off.

They're not selling it any longer on HSN, I wonder if the pan just wasn't any good.

Does anyone here have one?  Any recommendations for how to clean the black bits without scratching it?  We tried soaking it, not much better.

@Noel7, I do not have this pan but the Curtis Stone DuraPans, which have the same type of non-stick says:

"To remove stubborn stains, partially fill the cookware with three parts water to one part detergent or vinegar and bring to the boil.  Turn off heat source and set aside for a period to cool and allow these stains or deposits to soften; then wash in mild dishwashing detergent and warm water using a nonabrasive mesh pad or a soft brush."

If all else fails check out my thread titled Last Resort Ceramic Coated Pan Rescue.

Oh @Noel7 I could not recommend CS more! . . . I have been making french toast for years but since I purchased these pans they come out perfectly, crispy yet cooked perfectly!  I couldn't agree with @Marp more, these pans are the real deal.

I had that pan and returned it. I like to cook pork with Korean BBQ sauce and even with the nonstick it stuck like glue and was very had to clean. It also discolored it. I'm back to using a Staub cast iron grill. Heating the pan with water and baking soda lifts everything off without scrubbing!

Hi @momtochloe !

I got that HUGE CS pan HSN had of his but we haven't used it yet.  I think it's 14" round, not high sides.

Do you have that one?  I was wondering what you've made on it.

Thanks @Blondelle !  Three of us took turns cleaning it, no one used anything scratchy but it now has several tiny scratches, almost like cuts, in the center.

I'd bought it for my daughter to use, she loves the high sides.  I ordered the QVC version for her yesterday.  I hope that one is better.

Hi @Noel7 and a Happy New Year to you and your family! . . . I purchased a set of three of his pans about a month ago and I just love them.  Right now my meals have been pretty much breakfast centric but what I noticed right away was how great my french toast came out as normally I would be fiddling with the temperature to get a nice "toast".  They heat up beautifully, evenly and quickly (I use an induction burner).  Couldn't be more pleased! . . .
