Any Nespresso users?

[ Edited ]

I was on vacation a week ago and the hotel had a Nespresso machine in the room (the original kind).  It made the best coffee and exactly what I am looking for so plan to replace my Ninja Coffee Bar with one.  I've done a ton of research so far and think I prefer the original machine to the new ones that use the bigger pods.  I've been against using a Keurig (have in the past) because of those pods.  But these can be recyclyed with free bags from Nespresso you can mail back free of charge so I would take advantage of that program. I know these pods are more expensive, but I'm willing to pay more to get what I consider to be a far superior cup of coffee to what I am making now.    I think the Pixie would be the machine I would like to get.  The milk frother is not something I need.  Anyone have a Nespresso and have any advice or suggestions for me?

I have had the same machine for years and my daughter has also.  I buy the pods from costco they have the pods by Petes or starbucks, they are a lot cheaper than the nepresso version.  My daughter orders pods from nespresso she said she gets decent deals from there.  I would like the machine that takes the larger pods also so I could have both coffee and espresso, the small pods make espresso.

I also have one that I bought several years ago and do like it.  I don't buy the Nespresso pods, though; I buy the cheaper ones that are Nespresso-compatible.  I believe the newer machines only take the Nespresso pods that come with barcodes.

I have the Vertuo one.  Have had it for at least three years.  I get my pods from Nespresso.  They ship super fast, and usually will have deals - buy X number of sleeves and get a free one.  Sometimes it is a free mug, etc.

I recommend at least make your first couple of pod purchases directly from Nespresso.  You can see all their offerings, including how the coffee is rated in terms of how robust or more mild it is, flavored ones etc.

You can also check out all the  different machines that they have, and sometimes they will have a sale on them.

@soonersis We have had Pixie machines for a long time and other Nespressos and the new size ones too in homes and offices.  They are the best!

Those used to be made in Switzerland--don't know about now but IF you can find one of those grab it!  Woman LOL

I got a used machine (the smaller pod style that you're speaking of) on Facebook Marketplace. While I loved the Vertuo, the pods were too much $ and I tried some of the hacks for it and did not have good results. The Delizia pods that are sold at Amazon are a great deal and taste great. Costco sells them Original line pods and I buy when they are on sale.

Love my little red pixie. We have had it for many years and never gave us a minute of trouble. We buy both the nespresso pods and the starbucks blonde. I like a less intense cup and my husband loves the very dark. We tried the machine that made the big cups but they were all too strong for both of us. I think you will enjoy.
