I think the sandwich sounds really good.  I however, would leave out the seeds.

You'd leave on the peel? I've heard of people liking lemon peel fine if you like it but personally with the sugar added, the seeds and the peel- I'm just out

In that carrot salad, the lemons were sliced oh, so thin, and no seeds, and they were sauteed in EVOO w/ pine nuts. That was tossed with shredded raw carrots. I remember it being sauteed pretty long & on low heat. It was the carrots that were the main dish, and the lemons were the accompaniment. Recipe by Aarti Sequeira.

(I think this is modified a bit)

I know this post is about the grilled cheese sandwich. It seemed that some were surprised about the lemon peel in a recipe. And I was only pointing out that lemon peel, apart from the zest, in a recipe was not strange to me.

Now the seeds are something different. If you were using peel in a recipe, you might want to shave off the yellow to use and leave the white pith out entirely, since that is bitter - like the seeds.

But I can see Giada's using the pith, too, since she seems to like bitterness. Hence the sugar in her recipe, I guess.

Years ago, I used to think she had some good recipes.  I made a couple of them and found them to be extremely labor intensive without a lot of flavor.   Then I learned she spit out the bites you see her take on t.v. so that she doesn't gain weight.  The rumors of her marriage beginning to fail, then the tops that showed more cleavage than I was comfortable with and I was done.  It seems she never really makes a real meal-just "bites" of this and that.  She is more work than what her recipes are  worth in my opinion .  I watched her a few years ago when the Food NetWork did a live Thanksgiving show with Bobby Flay, Ina, and Alton Brown.   She behaved as if she was the only one who had ever fixed a Thanksgiving meal.  Then she cut herself.   That finally kind of shut her up, but that was it for me.  Just too many gaffes going on for me.

I have never been able to watch her. I don't care for her food, but watching her cram spoons into her mouth, makes me queasy

I wonder if she has ever watched herself do this, after filming is over? I can't believe if she saw herself she would want it filmed

I met her once at a cooking event and she was extremely nice, down to earth and stayed a long time and visited with a large crowd.

She also did an excellent presentation.

Barfing up a recipe must be her secret to staying skinny. That doesn't sound edible.
