How long do Anchovies stay unopened ?  And what about after their opened. I am making a caesar salad on Sunday and I won't be using all them. Any ideas what I can use the rest in ? Thanks.

I love anchovies! Besides salad, I love them on pizza!

When I have left overs, I put them in a small baggie/container and pop them in the freezer, then pull them out the next time I'm having salad/pizza.

They're already smoked, so they will last in the fridge a good while too.

Can you tell I just love anchovies? Smiley Tongue

I'm coming over your house.  You make a "real" caesar salad!

Pop them in the freezer would be my first choice but depending on how much you have, you can pulverize them and use it to season other items you are cooking.

Cocktail rye (or any kind of cracker) topped with a slice of hard-boiled egg, and finished off with a tiny slice of anchovy.........great for New Year's Eve

Salad-love Caesar-is always wonderful, and if you have leftover anchovies, make more!

Personally, I don't like them that much, but the dressing really needs it.  My solution is to buy anchovy paste is a tube, and you even have more control over the taste you are trying to achieve. I don't have any on hand now, but I do believe Cento makes it.
