I don't get rid of it. I actually forget how long it's there. If it doesn't smell bad, i keep drinking it.

Sugar as a non-harmful ingredient is debatable.

Same for me and I've never had any problems doing that. I've also used both types of milk and can tell no difference.

I know I have used it 3 wks & probably more past the date on the carton. I have never had any go bad. It's not a dairy product. If it does not smell or taste weird I still use it. I have never had any problems. I did throw out what was left in a carton that was 2 months old. I had not made any smoothies for a while since it's been winter & cold & did not want anything cold to drink. LOL!!! I use Silk brand almond, coconut, coconut/almond mix. Now they have cashew milk.

Some almond milk comes in a large container and some in smaller containers. I assume you're talking about the large.
Trader Joe's carries it in the smaller size, and I'm pretty sure I've seen the small sizes in other grocery stores.

I agree. But you can get the unsweetened kind, and I do.
I think almond milk that's about to turn has an unmistakable smell. I toss it when soon as it begins.

You are both correct, of course. My point was that sugar, after a certain date won't harm you (anymore that before the date!)
