I like the look of the all-clad stainless. But wonder does the food stick? Trying to decide which is better

Using proper technique, you can cook on stainless steel without sticking problems. However, using improper technique you can create a big mess. Bottom line: It is an excellent choice but user error could interfere with that.
I have one piece of All-Clad nonstick. It's a stove top grill pan. I've had it for quite a few years and holds up every bit as good as the regular stainless All-Clad.

I have a set of 8" and 10" All Clad non-stick high-side fry pans and absolutely love them. Have been using for more than a year and still get the quality non-stick....but I also do not abuse my cookware, I have followed the directions for amount of heat to use; and also know how my stovetop emits heat and cooks. I also use older Technique and WP stainless steel cookware that is non-stick and it holds up beautifully using it correctly....should also be the same with All Clad stainless steel cookware.

@chickenbutt I think your comment is the key to using all our cookware......I use the "proper technique" with all my stainless, non-stick stainless, enamel cast iron, etc. all is in great condition.

Indeed! I've heard people complain about their LC with sticking problems, and the inability to clean them, and in all the cooking I've done with mine that has never ever happened.
I'm one who is pretty big on taking care of my things. I can have things for many decades and they are like new. Now, my husband - oh boy. He is careless and either destroys or loses everything. Consequently, we each have our own separate things.

I would investigate this purchase carefully. I own All-clad stainless, for many, many years & don't recommend these pans. They aren't non-stick and older pieces. They do hold up well but.....
1) yes food will stick if you don't use oil
2) they take forever to heat up.
3) pain to clean. They leave water marks that can't be simply wiped off with soap & H20. Takes elbow grease to clean these pans.
4)buy the more expensive sets with a core that will heat up in a reasonable amount of time. Still cleaning, scrubbing pans is what you will be doing, even for the simplest of ingredients, like I mentioned, H20, leaves water mark. Not easy to wipe off. Have to scrub it off. Hate All-clad pans.
Do your homework. These are an investment and once you have them, they do last. But you are stuck with the investment.

I have both regular all clad and some non stick ones. Non stick still looks great. I never use more than medium high heat. I find they heat pretty quickly. Only drawback is they are heavy cookware. Use barkeepers friend on the regular stainless. Keeps them looking shiny.

I have an entire set of All-Clad stainless pots and pans, have used on a daily basis for about 4 years now. My pans are still sparkling clean and shiny like the day I received them. Yes, on occasion, they will stick when temp too high or not enough oil.....I keep them clean inside and out using Barkeepers Friend. I swear by this product for keeping my set looking like new. I can purchase it at the grocery store or online...but all in all, I love my stainless ALL-Clads.

During my 40 years of marriage I went through so many types/brands of the leading cookware! All would last a few months/years then I would end up throwing them away. Several years ago I bit the bullet and sprung for 2 complete sets of All-Clad cookware. I have never been happier! I have stainless and they still all look brand spanking new! I know they will outlive me!

I have a complete set of All Clad Copper Core and several All Clad non-stick skillets, all of which I have had for about 10 years. I have no problem keeping any of the SS clean and shiny and the non-stick has held up better than any other that I have ever had. I also have a set of Scan Pan saucepans and skillets which are excellent for non-stick and have also held up well for the 5 years I have owned them.
