Aldi's Steam Mop

I have a question about this (or any) steam mop.

 

The Aldi's description says that it can be used on carpet.  Does it clean the carpet like a vacuum?

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

After vacuuming the carpet, you run the steamer over the surface to kill any germs and bacteria.   It does not actually remove dirt in the carpet fibers.
