didn't do nothing for my potato chips. They were horrible. Love it for other stuff, french frys , salmon, etc. Today, tried to make chips in it using Meredith's cookbook. Slice the chips with my Kitchen Aid slicer as thin as it cuts and as she says to do soaked in ice water for 10 min. dried with paper towels, ran 'em thru inch of veg oil and cooked at 300 for 7 min, stopping and shaking the basket and cooking  for a few more minutes. Tasted like cardboard.

Broke out the deep fryer and finished up the rest of the potatoes in it.

SOUNDS LIKE ALOT OF WORK FOR NOTHING, I WOULD JUST BUY A BAG OF CHIPS. I AM STILL ON THE FENCE ABOUT THE AIR FRYER.

@SharkE  I got the same results but I tried slicing them thicker and just spritzing them with olive oil and then salted them when done and they were very good.

I haven't tried potato chips in the AF, but I made Meredith Laurence's Grilled Ham and Muenster on Raisin Bread yesterday and it was FABULOUS!   I made another one today for lunch and to save mega calories, I cut the cheese down from 4 slices (!!!!) to 1 slice, the ham down to 2 ounces and the butter to 1 teaspoon.  It wasn't as decadent, but still pretty freaking good.  I might be addicted to them now.

Today, I made her Roasted Vegetable Frittata and it was also very good.  These recipes are in her "Air Fry Everything" cookbook that I have had for a while and just decided to try something from it.  So far, not disappointed.

I have the original Cook's Essentials Air Fryer and I love it.  I use it all the time.  Everything cooks so much faster in it.  I am really glad I bought it.

I have tried making potato chips in the microwave and they come out pretty good, but it is a slow process because you can only make a few at a time.

@Pook

I wondered about that. If they were thicker would turn out better. Hubbo likes them thin "like my Mother used to make them"   sigh........LOL

she gave me her recipe she never had any fancy air fryer, deep fryers, etc.

but, hers came out perfect. I'm reminded all the time.  "My mother was the only one who could make choc pie". sigh.........

I don't like choc pie LOL Even eating out he'll say "not as good as what my Mother made". I'll say "is that right"? LOL
