@house_cat   My first cookbook was the Better Crocker red and white check, remember that one?  I still have it, should toss it, but can't bring myself to do it, lol.  I didn't make many meals from it, or any other cookbook of the hundreds I have as I make recipes up as I go.

@mousiegirl  I received the Betty Crocker cookbook with the red and white check for a shower gift in the '60's.  I still have it and a newer version of the same book.  Don't use them much now, but won't part with these books.

I have several of them. I like to get the first printed copies.  I was telling my son that when I die he should sell the cookbooks on Ebay.  He said he wants them. That's even better!

i think this set may be my oldest......they were my mothers and she is really thinning out her cookbook collection. i highly recommend this set if you want some great recipes.

My first cookbook was the BH&G red checked cookbook.  I gave it to the DIL who likes to cook and she has enjoyed recipes I have made from that book.
