I prefer ceramic or glass to plastic and stainless but not for a KA mixer. I have two - a 7 qt and the 3.5 qt mini and even the mini is heavy by the time I get flour, sugar, eggs and liquid in it! Besides, I use pretty appliance covers and the bowl wouldn't be seen anyway.

Check the kitchenaid website.

The painted ceramic bowl is $109 at KitchenAid.com and at Bloomingdale’s. It’s $80 (on sale) at Macy’s but excluding from coupons. Several other retailers have the solid color bowl at price points varying from $45 to $79. I still do not think QVC’s pricing is out of line for this item.

There is just no way i would pay that much for one bowl. Just like as much as i like the McKenzie Childs line they are so expensive. So pretty yes.

I have the KA mini and as much as I would like the stainless bowl with the handle, I don't want it for $50.

Then don't spend the money.  There, I just solved your dilemma.

Some have forgotten when the large Polish Stoneware batter bowl was offered here.  Well over $100, probably about $120, maybe more.  It's been years ago.
