I just received the 8 at cooks essentials pressure cooker today. In the packing was a plastic cup to trap steam run off and with it was another pkastic  piece. I have read and identified it but can’t figure out where it attaches. Has anyone received this particular pressure cooker and can help before I call customer service?

I believe mine came with a square tube which is supposed to fit over something to direct condensation into a cup.  I've never used it so it's obviously not essential for the operation of the cooker.  I doubt CS would have any idea what this part would do.

By the handle on the right side.  I've never attached mine either.

I attached that steam cup on the side but along with it is a black piece about 2 in in length that I can’t find or figure where or what it’s for. I am not appliance challenged either, LOL

If you are looking at the cooker from above, the piece is roughly at the 2 o'clock position down below the right handle towards the bottom. What it does though? Not a clue.
