I was never one that had a pocket marked "disposable income" or money to waste. I know the idea behind you get what you pay for, but somewhere in there it should also be the idea that what does the job right is enough.
I drink coffee every day, and I am not one that has to go sit in a building where they make "fancy" coffee drinks to enjoy what I like. The logo on the cup does not make a difference to me.
But, then, the logo on a piece of jewlery or on my clothing makes no difference to me either. If it's something I like, I will buy it, if not it stays in the store. I don't shop for something by the name on the tag.
When I bought my first car, it wasn't the name on the fender, it was can it get me back and forth to work. It still is. I feel no need to "show off".
If the "Jones'" want a 20,000 square feet home, that's okay, but I don't need it and I don't want all the work that goes with it. I'll stick with 1,000 square feet.
My $30.00 Mr. Coffee maker works just fine, so I'll set that "savings" aside for something I really need. Same goes for the $400.00 blender, the $400.00 cast iron pot, etc. Those things just aren't going on my "Need to have" list. They aren't even going to be marked as a "Wish".
We each have our own wants. None are wrong, or right. That's the joy in all being different.
