@Kachina624 They are shipped frozen.

I'd like to see how frozen they are by the time they get to Arizona.

QVC, had a lady on about a month ago that was selling Butta Pies.  They wanted $99.00 for 2 nine inch pies.  They looked awful on screen, and the show host tried blaming the heat of the studio lights for it.

Well, I ordered a Junior's cheesecake twice and both times it came smashed up.  Of course QVC returned my money, but I was very dissappointed.

Re: $69 for 2 pies?

[ Edited ]

I've received pies from several mail order companies. They are packed carefully. Arrive frozen. Arrive undamaged. The prices are similar to what QVC offers.

A favorite quality bakery, driving to 11 miles away, sells pies for around $25. They are now open only a few days a week, from 10am to 3 or 4pm and in an area where I pay for parking and unless special ordered, not always in stock.

Like most I've bought grocery store frozen pies. I've tried pies and other desserts from Costco, Sam's Club, and BJ's. There is a distinct difference in the quality of ingredients. I no longer eat empty unsatisfying calories. If I consume a dessert then it's something I truly want to enjoy, and not something where it's one piece and the rest in the trash. Not something that the oils and other ingredients unpleasantly repeat on you hours later.

For some, the price is worth it for the quality of ingredients and convenience. For others, there is no convincing.

Yes, it seems like a lot.  Last week, the "Friday Freebie" at Giant was a frozen pie from their "Nature's Promise" line, normally $6.99. I got apple.

There have been a number of food items I've purchased here over there years that I REALLY like a lot.  Granted, none of them are cheap but when I figure the 'per serving' for me it's not so bad and I know I can enjoy the items and have them for a long time as I don't eat them every day.

I do vacuum seal any of the frozen items that don't come vac-sealed, so it makes it easy to have them on hand w/o worrying about quality.

But, $69 for two pies?  Nah, not for me.  I don't begrudge it others who may be interested of course.   But I would pass on that.

@Meowingkitty    My frozen food has always still been frozen when it gets to New Mexico, not nearly as hot but hot enough.

@Zhills    Duh, I must have brain fog today.  I assumed they were fresh and unfrozen.

I ordered these in July but after giving it thought I canceled.  While I am happy for the family being able to build up a business and keep their farm, the cost of the pies is for me too high.
