Would not choose a 4-quart PC unless it was a second model perhaps. You can always make less food in a 6-quart PC but the vast majority of PC recipes in books and online are for 6 quart pressure cookers. Yes you can adapt a recipe for a 6 quart to a 4 quart but why have to bother?

For me, it was the weight that made the difference.  I can tenderize a nice sized piece of meat, and finish the chili, stew, soup, etc. on the stove where it is easier for me to handle.  1 point

I have and use a 4 qt pressure cooker and I can make a huge amount in it if I need to. I cook a 5 lb whole chicken in it all the time. Works great. And I bought it at least 10 years ago, from the Q--one of the better things I've bought.
